Donate Your Taxidermy

Taxidermy Donation Questions and Answers.

Who are you guys, and why should I donate my taxidermy?

Behring Global Educational Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that donates taxidermy to partner museums around the world for educational purposes.

Where will my taxidermy go?

Your taxidermy could go almost anywhere around the world.  We are working with museums throughout Asia, most are in China.  We also have our own museum here in the United States, Blackhawk Museum, in Danville, California, across the street from our headquarters.  Come see it!

Why Chinese Museums?

China is building some of the largest Museums in the world.  The scale of these Mega-Museums is necessary to allow the biggest Chinese cities to meet the needs of the tens of millions of visitors they accommodate every year. Visit for more information.

Can my collection of trophies stay together?

How large and diverse is your collection?   There are spaces available in new Museums that can accommodate hundreds, to more than one thousand specimens! Contact us so we can discuss an exhibit, in your honor, featuring your taxidermy!

How do I donate my trophies?

-Photograph the trophies you would like to donate.

-Make a list of the names of the specimens, the mount style (Full, Shoulder, Pedestal, etc.) and any other pertinent information concerning your donation.

-Mail or e-mail your photos and list of specimens to:

Tax Deduction?

Consult your tax preparer about Charitable Contributions of Taxidermy Property.  Refer to IRS Publication 526.

What is my taxidermy worth?

We do not appraise or value taxidermy.  A professional appraiser can provide you with an accurate fair-market-value.

I want to leave my Trophies to you, so my wife and family do not have to figure out what to do with them when the time comes.

Through an estate gift to Behring Global Educational Foundation, you can take steps to ensure your trophies are utilized to promote conservation of wildlife and to educate future generations.

Consult an experienced estate-planning professional to create or modify your will or living trust.  Then contact Behring Global Educational Foundation so that we may acknowledge your gift and make certain that your intentions  are understood.

General Bequest – A specific dollar amount, a particular asset, or a fixed percentage of the estate left to the cause of your choice.

Specific Bequests – A particular item or property bequeathed for a designated purpose.

Residuary Bequests – The residue portion of your assets go to the cause of your choice after other terms of the will have been satisfied.

Contingency Bequests – A part of your estate left to a selected charity if your named beneficiary does not survive you.

How soon will you come take my Taxidermy and who does the work?

We do our best to collect all donations in a timely manner.  Our staff members pick up donations and we only contract with professionals who are experienced in trophy removal and transport.  WE DO NOT DO DEMOLITION WORK.  We will happily remove your taxidermy from your home, however, please consult with your building contractor for demolition and removal of built-in dioramas and habitat.
